When does outdated information become a misleading brand description?

In brief

Old information becomes misleading when presented as current or when a subsequent fact needed to understand today's situation is omitted. Preserve the historical event with its date and add the relevant current status.

Identify the specific present-day implication: a former executive presented as current, a sold business described as a subsidiary, or a concluded case shown as active. Keep dated historical accounts accurate and update current profiles to reflect the present record.

Publish a precise current reference with dates and status, and direct a publisher request to any demonstrably wrong live statement. For content already changed or removed, use the stale-search tool that matches the obsolete result and its eligibility requirements. Explain the event's historical record and current position clearly.
