How should an ORM review classify the sources on a branded results page?

In brief

A branded-results review should classify what each source contributes, who maintains it, and which action is possible. Useful categories include current company facts, independent reporting, customer experience, professional profiles, official records, and discussion. Ownership is one attribute of a source, not a substitute for examining its claims.

The review records the result's actual wording, page context, and relevant evidence. Several owned pages can repeat a vague message while one external record supplies a missing fact. Several independent pages can also be copies of the same originating report. A ratio of owned to independent URLs does not describe those differences.

Turn the classification into a practical work map. Use direct edit rights for approved company updates, direct external factual errors to the appropriate contact or reporting route with evidence, and respond to legitimate criticism through operating changes or new supporting context as needed. Prioritize by source support and audience need. Then check the important claim and the accessibility of the current record.
