How can an uncited AI claim be investigated and corrected?
In brief
Investigate an uncited claim by mapping its factual parts across company references, public records, profiles, reporting, discussion, entity data, and historical accounts. Compare that map with the product and conversation context. The aim is to locate a correctable information problem while distinguishing observed evidence from a hypothesized path into the answer.
Record the exact wording, entity, dates, product conditions, and earlier conversation. Distinctive phrases and figures can reveal matching source chains, including older descriptions and copied claims. Examine current assets as well as relevant history. A follow-up source request can provide additional leads, and those leads should be checked against the actual claim. Compare open questions with questions that clearly identify the entity. If naming a subsidiary changes the answer, investigate the identity ambiguity alongside the broader source record.
Visible citations in related fresh answers can add evidence, but the investigation continues beyond those links. Learned knowledge, retrieval, structured references, tool results, and context can combine in different ways. Missing public provenance keeps a possible contribution open; it does not show that a source was unused.
Claim support determines the corrective work: fix a false profile, clarify an entity relationship, publish a missing factual reference, address a real issue, or report an unsupported generated statement. Retest the affected questions and retain the source changes alongside the new outputs. This produces a practical diagnosis without inventing an exact account of the platform's hidden inputs.
