Why does AI describe a brand inaccurately when its website is correct?
In brief
A company's website is one part of the information available to an AI experience. Learned knowledge, external references, retrieved pages, entity records, and conversation context can carry a different account. An inaccurate description needs to be traced through that wider environment as well as the generated interpretation.
Diagnosis starts with the exact claim and the entity, date, and context it concerns. Retain the prompt, full answer, visible citation where supplied, and current factual references. Check the cited pages, then look for the same fact in profiles, public records, earlier versions, discussions, and copied reporting. That comparison can separate a source error, a conflicting historical account, and a faulty summary.
Correct the part that is wrong. Pursue updates to conflicting sources, clarify ambiguous company pages with dated statements, and submit unsupported generated claims through platform feedback. Test the affected questions in fresh sessions and compare the full account, including uncited claims. Connect each source or asset change with the output subsequently observed.
