Should older sources be excluded from a brand's AI reputation assessment?
In brief
Assess older sources by their relevance to the claim and period. Use original records for historical events, statements, acquisitions, and earlier business models. Check that each answer preserves the time and scope of the information it uses.
Assess a source's date against the fact it describes. An original founding record documents history; a current leadership list establishes present authority. For disputed events, trace old pages, copied profiles, retrieved documents, and historical accounts, then compare their claims with the current record.
Record publication dates, the period described, and the context of the claim made in the answer. A later resolution or leadership transition needs current evidence alongside valid history. Improve the references and profiles carrying the outdated account, then test current-status and historical questions separately. The investigation should compare the whole record rather than exclude older material automatically or assume every recent page provides a better explanation.
