How can a brand address an invented client relationship or endorsement in AI answers?

In brief

An invented client relationship or endorsement is a factual error even when it flatters the brand. It can mislead prospective buyers, breach expectations between organizations, and cause an unsupported claim to enter sales material. Repetition by an AI tool does not turn the relationship into evidence.

Establish the exact assertion and check whether it confuses a customer, partner, supplier, public example, or another firm's engagement. Inspect what the cited article actually says about the two companies and their relationship. Give a positive answer the same factual scrutiny as an adverse one.

Respect confidential relationships while correcting the specific public assertion. Clarify the asserted relationship without disclosing the entire customer list or details covered by confidentiality agreements. Request a correction at the originating source and use the relevant platform's feedback process. Retest the association, including descriptions that imply an endorsement indirectly. Keep the correction focused on accurate public understanding and documented relationships.
